In 2021, a rift seemed to have developed between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan, when the latter was unexpectedly dropped from Johar’s movie, Dostana 2. Although Johar’s production house cited “professional circumstances” as the reason, fans were left unsure about the real cause behind the actor’s exit from the project. However, it seems that Kartik Aaryan is now likely to appear as a guest on the popular celebrity talk show, Koffee with Karan.
What happened between Karan Johar and Kartik Aryan with Dostana 2?
Dharma Productions initially announced the cast for the remake of their hit film, Dostana, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Lakshya Lalwani, and Janhvi Kapoor. But shortly after the announcement, Dharma Productions released an Instagram statement, revealing that they were recasting the movie, leaving Kartik out of the loop.
Recently, Karan Johar confirmed the new season of Koffee with Karan, which is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on October 26. According to a report by News18 Showsha, Kartik is expected to make an appearance on the show as a guest, possibly with Johar. According to the report, a source has disclosed, “There’s still no clarity as to who Kartik will come with but he’s likely to be seen on the Koffee couch for the second time. The duo has decided on sorting out their differences and the episode might also see them addressing the many reports of their alleged tiff.”
It is anticipated that the duo will address their much-discussed fallout during the filming of Dostana 2. Incidentally, the actor has earlier graced the couch of Koffee with Karan in its sixth season. He appeared in the episode with the beautiful actress and his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon.
While rumors of a clash between the actor and the producer have persisted, Karan Johar has been seen attending the premiere of Kartik’s film, Satyaprem Ki Katha, which was released last June.
As for Kartik’s upcoming projects, he has a handful of films in the pipeline, including the Kirik Party remake, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Chandu Champion, among others.
