Sometimes life can be cruel upon you. It has the power to either bring you to the shore or drown you in despair. However, it is you, who has the ability to ride back with all of your might and force. Famous comedian Sidharth Sagar has also gone through a rough period in his life. Sidharth Sagar caved to drug addiction after attaining prominence on shows like Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show. It caused him to experience isolation, melancholy, and addiction. However, Sidharth made a concerted effort to escape the addiction despite all the emotional bruises, and today, he is a decent sober man owing to the backing of his family. Recently, Sidharth spoke candidly about his arduous life experiences and his battle with addiction on Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show.
Talking on his sobriety to host Jay Kumar, Sidharth stated, “It’s been 8-9 months, I haven’t been back to the place where I was once. It took me a long time to understand life, till I used to chase ambitions. Many things slipped out of my hands. Nevertheless, I am no longer chasing them and am instead savouring each moment. Life is a lot more palpable for me now. After a ten-year hiatus, the comeback is now. For all those years, I have struggled with drug addiction. But life changed the course of my voyage in such a way that I have finally arrived here.”’
How he came into the comedy business?
During the conversation, Sidharth Sagar gave an account of how he entered the comedy business. He said, “I started this when I was a kid. I used to watch Govinda, Shahrukh, and Salman’s movies. However, I was unaware that I might be imitating someone. My parents soon determined that my friends and other people would keep me sitting with them for hours on end just because I could make them laugh and amuse them.”
Studied till class 9
“I have studied till class 9th. Also, my parents never forced me for studying. My mum encouraged me to pursue my talent further. At the age of 8-9 years, I performed all of Raju Srivastava’s comedic pieces. My parents recognised my talent. I consequently received a harmonium, a tabla, and other musical instruments. And from there, my interest in art grew. I was given the chance to act in Comedy Circus when I was just 13 years old. Chote Miyan Bade Miyan on Colors after that.”
The time when Sidharth left his house
However, managing success is a difficult task. Sidharth experienced the same thing. It took him ten years to overcome his addiction after he became involved with it. Sidharth moved out of the house and away from his parents. He stopped consuming food and sleeping. His state of mind and body deteriorated. Some of his buddies visited him at that time. He had lost weight and became under 40 kg as a result of not eating. He was fortunately found by his parents, who took excellent care of him.
In his conversation with Jay Kumar, Sidharth stated, “In those ten years, there were difficult and depressing times. Today, I feel that whatever those ten years taught me, no one else could have taught me. The greatest teacher is life itself. I am thankful for life because I feel blessed to have experienced everything that has happened to me because it was also crucial.”
Idolized late comedian Raju Srivastava
Sidharth also paid tribute to the late comedian Raju Srivastava. He mentioned his deep admiration for Raju Srivastava, watching whom he began his comedic career. Sidharth recalls, “I performed all the comedy pieces of Raju Srivastava.at the age of 8=9 years. Today, he has left this life’s journey. We can’t escape the fact that everyone will die at some point, and that death is just as beautiful as birth. It keeps you fresh. Like a soul changing a piece of cloth, The soul of Raju Srivastava has altered its clothing and begun a new adventure. He expressed his admiration for the “king of comedy” and his condolences to his family.
Wants to help addicts who seek change in life
While Sidharth has restored his sanity, he is attempting to assist those who are struggling with addiction and are seeking help. He continued, “I try to convey a message to those who are in addiction. that you should ping me on social media if you really need some assistance from me. Although it took me 10 years to overcome my addiction, I hope it takes you less time. I’ll support you wholeheartedly; all that matters is that you want to. One must experience the euphoria that comes from living; life is really beautiful.
