Nikhita Gandhi, a popular singer known for her soulful voice, recently opened up about her experience working on Bandish Bandits 2. As part of the second season of the hit show, she lent her voice to some of the season’s most loved tracks, including “Khaamakha” and “Ghar Aa Maahi.” In a recent interview, Nikhita shared the highs and lows of recording these songs and what it felt like to be a part of such a musical journey.

Nikhita Gandhi shared the Experience of Singing “Khaamakha”

Recording “Khaamakha” for Bandish Bandits 2 was an emotional and unforgettable experience for Nikhita Gandhi. She revealed that she first heard the song a year before the recording process and instantly fell in love with it. “I was so excited that I decided to record it the very night I heard it,” she said. Nikhita recorded the song from home and sent the track to Siddharth, the music director.

However, when it came time to record the song in a professional setting, things didn’t go as smoothly as Nikhita had hoped. “I was unwell during the in-person recording session, and the high notes in the song were particularly difficult for me,” she explained. Despite struggling with the vocals, Nikhita pushed through. She even had doubts about whether the final version would live up to her expectations, but Siddharth reassured her. “He told me that my home-recorded takes were exactly what the song needed. The rawness and vulnerability in my voice were what made the song special,” she shared. For Nikhita, this was a reminder of how music can bring out deep emotions and how a song like “Khaamakha” can make a singer feel exposed and vulnerable.

The Fun of Recording “Ghar Aa Maahi”

Recording “Ghar Aa Maahi” was a completely different experience for Nikhita, one she described as a lot of fun. “It was probably the most enjoyable part of my journey with Bandish Bandits 2,” she said. What made it so much fun was the challenge of singing in a way that was intentionally imperfect. “I had to purposely sing badly in certain parts,” she explained. “As a singer, it’s natural to want to sing your best, so messing up on purpose was a fun and challenging task. I kept singing properly, and we had to redo some parts because of that!”

A Dream Come True for Nikhita

When Nikhita found out she would be part of Bandish Bandits 2, it was a dream come true. She knew that the first season of the show was a massive hit, and being part of the second season felt like a big milestone in her career. “The music in Bandish Bandits is so important, and being the voice behind those songs for Tamannaah’s character was a proud moment for me,” she said.

For Nikhita, working on Bandish Bandits 2 has been a special experience—one that combined both emotional challenges and moments of joy. With songs like “Khaamakha” and “Ghar Aa Maahi,” she’s proven that she’s not just a singer, but an artist who can bring raw emotion and fun energy to every performance.
