YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as “BeerBiceps,” has found himself at the center of a major controversy. During his appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent, he made an inappropriate remark that sparked outrage across social media.
The Question That Caused Uproar
During the episode, which featured well-known content creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija (also known as “The Rebel Kid”), Allahbadia asked a contestant:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”
The remark quickly went viral, drawing criticism from viewers who found it distasteful and offensive.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Apology
Following the backlash, Allahbadia issued an apology, admitting that his comment was inappropriate and unfunny.
“My comment was not just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I’m sorry,” he said in a video statement on Monday.
His apology came after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis weighed in on the controversy. While he admitted he had not seen the clip, he stated that such vulgarity was unacceptable and assured that action would be taken against those who “cross the limits of decency.”

Legal Action and Public Outrage
Two Mumbai-based lawyers have filed a police complaint against Allahbadia and other comedians involved in the show. They have also written to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phalsankar and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, calling for action against the creators for disrespecting women.
Meanwhile, journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra criticized the show’s creators, accusing them of shaping an unhealthy creative economy in India.
“This content is not designated as adult content. A child could easily come across it through the algorithm. The creators and platforms show zero responsibility,” Misra posted on X (formerly Twitter).
He also condemned the audience’s reaction, saying:
“The audience has normalized and celebrated such content. Decency is not incentivized in India—creators are stooping lower for reach and revenue.”
Political and Public Reactions
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also reacted to the controversy, agreeing with Misra’s concerns.
“This is not creativity; it’s perversion. We can’t normalize such behavior. The fact that this sick comment received applause is deeply worrying.”
Several social media users called for action against Allahbadia and others involved in the show. One user urged Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take action, citing the negative impact such content could have on children and young viewers.
Connection to Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati
The controversy also led to criticism of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. A social media user pointed out that Samay Raina, along with content creators Tanmay Bhat, Bhuvan Bam, and Kamiya Jani, recently appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a popular game show hosted by Bachchan. The user argued that such influencers should not be given such a prestigious platform.
Previous Controversies
This is not the first time India’s Got Latent has made headlines. Just last week, a case was reportedly filed against a contestant from Arunachal Pradesh over her controversial remark about dog meat.
Conclusion
The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s remark has once again highlighted the fine line between humor and offensiveness. While content creators have the freedom to express themselves, they also bear the responsibility of ensuring their words do not cross ethical and moral boundaries. The growing concerns over the normalization of inappropriate content call for stricter regulations and accountability in the digital space.
