After more than three years apart, the world-famous K-pop group BTS is officially making a comeback. The group shared the exciting news during a live stream on Weverse on July 1, where all seven members appeared together for the first time since 2022. Fans were thrilled to see Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook reunite and announce their plans for a new group album and a world tour in 2026.

New Music Is Coming Soon

BTS shared that they will begin working on new music together starting this July. In their statement, they said, “Since this is a group album, it will show each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re working on it with the same passion and mindset we had when we first started.”

This upcoming album will be their first group project since 2020’s “BE”. The group is putting a lot of heart into this comeback, and fans can expect music that represents each member’s personality and creativity.

World Tour Set for 2026

Along with the album, BTS also confirmed that they will go on a world tour in 2026. This will be their first global tour since the “Permission to Dance On Stage” concerts in 2021. While full tour details haven’t been shared yet, the group did mention that the tour will include a stop in the Bay Area and likely other major cities around the world.

All Members Have Finished Military Service

One of the main reasons BTS had to pause group activities was because of South Korea’s mandatory military service. In South Korea, all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 to 28 are required to serve in the military for about 18 to 21 months.

Here’s a quick look at when each member served:

  • Jin was the first to enlist in December 2022 and was discharged in June 2024.
  • J-Hope enlisted in April 2023 and returned in October 2024.
  • Suga joined in September 2023.
  • RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook all enlisted together in December 2023 and finished earlier this year.

Now that all members have completed their service, they are free to return to full-time music and performances.

Live Album Coming in July

Before the group album drops, fans can enjoy a live album titled “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – Seoul,” which will be released on July 18. This album features performances from their 2021 concert in Seoul and is a great way to relive some of their past moments while waiting for their new music.

A New Chapter for BTS

With military service behind them and all seven members reunited, BTS is ready to start a new chapter. Their comeback brings excitement not only to fans in Korea but also to millions around the world. The upcoming album and world tour marks a fresh start for the group, and fans are already counting down the days.
