Mel B, also known as Scary Spice from the iconic Spice Girls, has officially tied the knot! The 50-year-old singer and TV personality married her longtime partner, Rory McPhee, on July 5th in a beautiful and grand ceremony at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral—a venue famously known for hosting the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles back in 1981.
A Fairytale Setting for a Special Day
Getting married at St. Paul’s Cathedral is no small deal. Very few people get the chance to say “I do” at such a historic and royal location. Mel B earned that honor after being awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2022 by Prince William, in recognition of her work raising awareness about domestic violence.
“It’s a big deal. Not many people are allowed to get married there. You have to be kind of special,” she shared earlier this year on The Tonight Show.
Two Stunning Wedding Dresses
Never one to keep things simple, Mel B wore not one but two wedding gowns on her big day. Her first dress was an elegant ivory gown designed by Josephine Scott, chosen with help from London’s Evelie Bridal Boutique. Caroline Black, the boutique’s owner, shared that working with Mel was a dream, as she brought her own unique style to the look.
As the evening festivities kicked off, Mel changed into a second gown—this one designed by Justin Alexander. She had teased earlier in the year that she might wear more than one dress, even joking that Victoria Beckham could design one of them!
“I don’t think it would be fair to just have one. Just have as many as you want,” she joked on Today with Hoda & Jenna.
Mel B And Rory McPhee Wedding Celebration Was Full of Spice
Mel B’s wedding festivities didn’t start on the big day—they kicked off weeks earlier with a fun-filled bachelorette party (or “hen do,” as it’s called in the UK). She celebrated with a group of 36 close friends at a lakeside retreat.
In true Scary Spice fashion, she showed up wearing a leopard-print bikini—one of her signature looks. In a video she posted to Instagram, Mel can be seen running down a dock, excitedly tearing off a lace cover-up as she joins her friends by the water. “HEN DO TIME WITH THE MOST AMAZING GROUP OF 36 WOMEN !!!!!!!” she wrote in the caption.
