Why Drishyam 3 Hindi Teaser Didn’t Drop on October 2 — Here’s What Really Happened!

For fans of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam franchise, October 2 has always carried special significance. The date, deeply tied to the film’s storyline and its famous “memory of October 2,” seemed like the perfect day to unveil the Drishyam 3 teaser.

However, despite reports of a 1-minute 25-second teaser being ready, the reveal never happened. Now, inside reports shed light on why the much-anticipated teaser was held back.

Creative Roadblocks Behind the Delay

According to a Mid-Day report, the delay wasn’t just about pending background music, as producer Kumar Mangat Pathak had hinted. The real reason lies in creative negotiations between the Hindi producers and the original Malayalam team behind the franchise.

Writer-director Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor, who have overseen the series since its inception with Mohanlal, reportedly have a say in when and how the Hindi adaptations release promotional content.

Malayalam Drishyam 3 Already Rolling

On the Malayalam front, Mohanlal began filming Drishyam 3 on September 22, followed by an official announcement soon after. In contrast, the Hindi version, directed by Abhishek Pathak, is expected to go on floors in December 2025.

Following the Malayalam team’s update, the Hindi producers swiftly revealed an October 2, 2026 release date — a move that insiders claim did not sit well with the Malayalam producers. This led to the enforcement of an adaptation clause, delaying the Hindi teaser’s release.

The Director’s Dilemma

Initially, the plan was for Jeethu Joseph to direct all three versions — Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu (starring Venkatesh) — with a simultaneous global release on October 2, 2026.

However, after the blockbuster success of Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam 2 in 2022, producer Kumar Mangat insisted his son helm the Hindi threequel. This change reportedly caused creative friction, prompting Jeethu Joseph and Antony Perumbavoor to prioritize completing the Malayalam version before its Hindi counterpart.

Jay-Ho Updates

As of now, both Drishyam 3 versions are progressing on separate tracks — one already filming, the other gearing up for production. While fans await clarity, one thing is certain: whether it’s Georgekutty’s next move or Vijay Salgaonkar’s final secret, Drishyam 3 will once again test how far a man can go to protect his family — across languages and timelines.
