Mastiii 4 Movie Review: Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi & Aftab Shivdasani Lead a Franchise That Refuses to Grow Up

‘Mastiii 4’ walks into theatres with the same chaotic energy that has defined the franchise for over 20 years. Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri and released on 21st November, the film stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Tusshar Kapoor, and Arshad Warsi. And true to its legacy, subtlety once again takes a permanent vacation.

This franchise began in 2004 with Masti, yet here we are two decades later with a film that neither matures nor aspires to. In the case of Mastiii 4, evolution is a myth—and chaos is a full-time commitment.

An Evergreen Formula: Loud, Crude, and Unapologetic

The film doesn’t waste a second trying to warm up the audience. From the very first scene, it dives headfirst into loud, over-the-top humour. If you’re waiting for moments of wit or clever dialogue, you’re in the wrong universe.

The makers double down on what has always worked for the franchise:
childish humour
toilet jokes
bizarre one-liners
and this time—human-animal and animal-animal “romance” jokes

A Bihari don randomly popping up in the UK becomes the cherry on this outrageous cake. Yet, behind all the madness lies a stubborn confidence. The creators know their audience and serve their flavour unapologetically.

The “Love Visa” Plot: Logic on Temporary Leave

The story follows Amar (Riteish), Prem (Aftab), and Meet (Vivek)—three married men bored of their predictable lives. When they discover that their friend Kamraj (Arshad Warsi) enjoys a yearly one-week “Love Visa” permitted by his wife, they instantly want the same.

Their wives surprisingly agree, leading the trio to chase their long-awaited “freedom trip.” But like every instalment in this franchise, their plans crumble spectacularly. The twist?
Their wives later claim their own “Love Visa,” turning the situation back on the men.

The plot is not here for logic or emotional depth—it simply exists to hold the comedy pieces together.

Where Sense Checks Out: The Madness Begins Early

The opening scene involves Riteish’s character trying to get two tigers to mate—a clear announcement that the film’s humour will be as wild as possible.

Milap Zaveri distributes the spotlight evenly among the leads, ensuring each one gets their quota of chaos. The sensibility of 2024 seems irrelevant to the director, who firmly sticks to the old-school Masti-style humour.

Performances: Actors Who Commit Fully to the Circus

Evaluating performances in a film like Mastiii 4 is tricky because the goal is not acting brilliance—it’s about surviving the gags with conviction.

Riteish Deshmukh

Effortless timing, exaggerated expressions, and complete commitment. He knows this territory best.

Arshad Warsi

Though in a special appearance, he steals scenes with ease—especially when a group of girls walks into his mansion.

Vivek Oberoi & Aftab Shivdasani

Both follow the franchise rhythm faithfully, embracing the absurdity without hesitation.

Tusshar Kapoor

His character Pablo Putinwa had comic potential, especially with the Bhojpuri angle, but it never reaches its peak.

The hospital delivery scene, the horse mounting bit, and fart-analysis moments form the kind of humour that only the truly daring (or the franchise loyalists) can endure.

A Comedy That Serves Chaos, Not Cleverness

Subtlety doesn’t exist in the Mastiii cinematic language. The film is a nonstop parade of snakes in pants, slapstick confusion, and jokes that proudly misbehave.

Mastiii 4 doesn’t want to be intelligent—it just wants to make you laugh the loudest way possible. Whether it succeeds depends entirely on your tolerance for outrageous humour.
