Haq, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, has finally made its OTT debut. The socially driven drama is now streaming on Netflix, giving audiences another opportunity to watch the film after its theatrical release in November 2025.

Confirming the update, Yami Gautam took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday and shared a poster of the film. She wrote, “Streaming now on @NetflixIndia #HAQ .”

About Haq

Haq revolves around Shazia (Yami Gautam Dhar), a woman married to a wealthy lawyer, Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi). Her life takes a shocking turn when Abbas unexpectedly brings home a second wife and abruptly ends his marriage with Shazia through triple talaq.

The film then follows Shazia’s legal and emotional battle as she fights to reclaim her dignity and rights. Tackling sensitive themes around gender, justice, and personal agency, Haq aims to spark conversations about India’s evolving socio-legal landscape.

Actors Sheeba Chaddha and Vartika Singh play pivotal supporting roles, adding emotional depth to the narrative.

Cast, Production & Reception

Produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, Haq continues Junglee Pictures’ tradition of backing socially relevant and issue-driven cinema.

While the film received largely positive reviews from critics for its performances and subject matter, it struggled to make a significant impact at the box office. Made on a reported budget of ₹40 crore, Haq earned close to ₹30 crore during its theatrical run.

Yami Gautam on the Film’s Reception

Earlier, Yami Gautam reflected on the film’s critical response and audience feedback, calling it a moment she would cherish.

“The power of word of mouth. No foul play or gimmicks. Straight from our hearts to the audience. Even from a trade and media perspective, I feel a lot of positivity that they want a film like Haq to be a success. It’s a rarity and I shall cherish this moment for life,” she wrote on social media.

With its Netflix release, Haq is expected to find a wider audience and spark renewed discussion around its themes. OTT platforms often give socially rooted films a second life, and Haq may resonate strongly with viewers discovering it for the first time.
