Anil Kapoor is clearly not in the mood to play it safe. The first look of his upcoming Prime Video film Subedaar is out, and it announces one thing loud and clear — this is going to be raw, ruthless, and emotionally charged.

The makers unveiled the poster on Instagram earlier today, instantly grabbing attention for its striking visual language. Front and centre is Anil Kapoor in full action mode, his face etched with grit and fury. What truly seals the impact, however, is the bloodied clenched fist thrust forward, with the letters “FK” scrawled across the knuckles, completing the bold tagline:
“DON’T FK WITH SUBEDAAR.”

It’s a no-nonsense declaration — this Subedaar means business.

Industry And Family React To The Power-Packed Poster

The poster quickly drew reactions from across the industry. Daughter Sonam Kapoor led the cheer squad, commenting, “Fantastic dad! On a roll.” Director Siddharth Anand dropped a simple but telling, “Oh wow! Smashing.” Actors Bhumi Pednekar and Mona Singh also joined in, flooding the comments with claps and blue hearts.

The overwhelming response only adds to the growing buzz around the project, which positions Anil Kapoor in one of his most physically intense roles in recent years.

Subedaar Set For March Release On Prime Video

According to a Mid-Day report, Subedaar is slated to premiere on Prime Video in March, marking Anil Kapoor’s first release of 2026. The film wrapped shooting in early 2025, giving the team ample breathing room to focus on post-production.

“The film wrapped up in early 2025, giving the team ample time to work on post-production. It will drop online in early March, marking Anil’s first offering of 2026,” a source told the publication.

A Retired Soldier Forced Back Into Battle

In Subedaar, Anil Kapoor essays the role of Arjun Singh, a retired army officer trying to adjust to civilian life while carrying the weight of unresolved trauma. When his family is threatened, Singh is pushed back into combat mode, triggering a violent and emotional reckoning.

Radhikka Madan plays his daughter, and the film reportedly places equal emphasis on action and emotion.
“In Subedaar, Anil has explored a combination of heavy action and drama. The film has some great stunts, but also an emotional father-daughter story at its core,” the source added.

Set in India’s heartland, the narrative explores themes of duty, loss, anger, and redemption, as Singh confronts both his inner demons and dangerous external forces.

Anil Kapoor’s Packed Line-Up Ahead

Beyond Subedaar, Anil Kapoor has an exciting slate lined up. He will next be seen in Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand’s much-anticipated action spectacle King, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhay Verma, and Raghav Juyal. The actor is also part of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming project Alpha.

With Subedaar, however, Anil Kapoor seems ready to remind audiences of his enduring intensity — blending brute force with emotional depth. If the first look is any indication, this is one comeback-to-action story that won’t pull its punches.
