What Is Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi About?
The film follows Prashanthi, a young woman raised in a conservative household shaped by rigid patriarchal values. After surviving an abusive relationship with her college lecturer, she is arranged to marry Omkar — a domineering man who asserts control through violence.
As the abuse intensifies within her marriage, Prashanthi eventually decides to fight back, marking a pivotal transformation in her life. The narrative explores her resistance against systemic oppression, highlighting themes of self-worth, resilience, and reclaiming agency.
The movie is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, which starred Darshana Rajendran and Basil Joseph in the lead roles.
