The roar of Salaar is far from over. After Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire stormed theatres worldwide, anticipation around its sequel has only intensified. Now, fresh updates confirm that Salaar 2: Shouryaanga Parvam is officially moving toward production.
Producer Vijay Kiragandur has described the Prabhas-led sequel as an “absolute behemoth,” signalling an even grander cinematic scale in its next chapter.
Production to Begin Soon
In a recent interaction with Variety India, Kiragandur confirmed that preparations are underway and the film will soon go on floors.
“Building on that massive foundation, Salaar 2 is going to be an absolute behemoth. We are constantly inundated with fan requests regarding its development, and we are thrilled to share that we will be diving into production on it very soon.”
The statement effectively ends months of speculation surrounding the project’s timeline.
Prabhas Returns as Deva
The sequel will see Prabhas reprise his role as the fierce and enigmatic Deva, also known as Salaar — a character that resonated strongly with mass audiences across markets.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the franchise has carved a niche within the high-octane action genre, combining stylised world-building with emotionally charged storytelling.
Neel has been occupied with a separate project starring Jr NTR, tentatively titled Dragon, while Prabhas continues juggling multiple big-budget ventures. Despite these packed schedules, Salaar 2 is now officially gaining momentum.

Hombale Films’ Expanding Global Vision
Backed by Hombale Films, the Salaar franchise forms a key pillar of the studio’s global ambitions.
Kiragandur also revealed that the production house is expanding its overseas distribution network, with a clear strategic objective: positioning Indian cinema as a globally competitive storytelling force.
After the international reception of their previous large-scale projects, the studio appears determined to scale up both content and reach.
What to Expect from Salaar 2
While plot details remain under wraps, Shouryaanga Parvam is expected to delve deeper into the power struggles and character arcs introduced in the first installment. Given the producer’s description of the sequel as an “absolute behemoth,” audiences can anticipate:
- Larger world-building
- Intensified action sequences
- Expanded character dynamics
- A more expansive cinematic canvas
