72nd National Film Awards: Yami Gautam, Kartik Aaryan & Mammootty Receive Top Honours

The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony was held in Gujarat on September 22. Yami Gautam won Best Actress for Article 370, while Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty shared Best Actor for Chandu Champion and Bramayugam, respectively.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the honours to the winners across various categories. Article 370 also won Best Feature Film, while Srikanth was named Best Hindi Film.

Yami Gautam wins Best Actress for Article 370

Yami Gautam received the Best Actress award for her performance in Article 370. The film also won Best Feature Film at the 72nd National Film Awards.

Yami attended the ceremony in a traditional black saree and was accompanied by her husband and Article 370 producer Aditya Dhar.

The film was released in 2024 and was among the productions recognised at the awards.

Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty share Best Actor award

Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty jointly received the Best Actor award at the ceremony.

Kartik was honoured for his performance in Chandu Champion, while Mammootty won for his performance in the Malayalam film Bramayugam.

The recognition brought together two actors from different generations and regional film industries in the same acting category.
