Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film Ranabaali has reportedly received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with no cuts suggested by the censor board. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the period drama is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
According to a report by Aakashavaani, the film has cleared the certification process without any cuts. Further details about its certification and any related conditions have not been independently confirmed.
The reported clearance comes as anticipation builds for the film, which reunites Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna on screen. The project has attracted attention for its historical setting, action sequences and portrayal of resistance against British oppression.
What Is Ranabaali About?
Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, Ranabaali, portrayed as a man from Rayalaseema who rises against British oppression. Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife and companion in his struggle.
Arnold Vosloo appears as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor in the film. The character is positioned against Ranabaali and the people resisting colonial exploitation.
The film’s promotional material presents Ranabaali as a defiant figure who refuses to accept the mistreatment of his people. However, the character should not automatically be treated as a documented historical personality without supporting historical evidence.
With its period setting and conflict centred on colonial rule, Ranabaali appears to combine action and drama with a story about resistance and personal conviction.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Reunite on Screen
Ranabaali marks another collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, who previously appeared together in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
Their reunion has added to the film’s appeal, while the period setting gives the project a different backdrop from their earlier collaborations. Vijay leads the story as Ranabaali, with Rashmika playing Jayamma, whose character is connected to his personal life and fight against oppression.
The film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. T-Series is presenting the project.
The reported U/A certification without cuts could be an encouraging development for the makers ahead of the theatrical release, although the official certification details should be checked against the CBFC record when available.
When Will Ranabaali Release in Theatres?
Ranabaali is scheduled to release worldwide on October 16, 2026. Its theatrical arrival comes one day after Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, scheduled for October 15, setting up a closely timed release window for two high-profile films.
The timing is likely to draw attention to advance bookings, audience interest and opening-day box-office performance once ticket sales begin. However, the films’ eventual commercial performance will depend on audience response and their respective theatrical runs.
For now, the reported U/A certification adds another development to Ranabaali’s pre-release journey. With Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna leading the cast, the film is preparing to bring its story of resistance and colonial conflict to cinemas on October 16.
