Shraddha Kapoor has opened up about a career decision she made after the success of Stree 2. Despite receiving several film offers and lucrative paycheques following the horror-comedy’s box-office run, the actress chose not to rush into another project. Instead, she decided to wait until she found a story that genuinely connected with her.

The actress shared the reason during a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram, where a fan asked her for advice for young women trying to navigate their careers. Rather than offering a general motivational message, Shraddha used her own experience after Stree 2 to explain why patience and trusting one’s instincts can matter when making professional decisions.

Her response also offers a glimpse into how she approached the period between her last theatrical release and her upcoming film, Eetha. The Laxman Utekar directorial will mark her return to cinemas after Stree 2, which was released in 2024.

Shraddha Kapoor Says She Received Several Film Offers After Stree 2

During the Instagram AMA, a fan asked Shraddha Kapoor: “Any advice for young girls who are trying to navigate their careers in the best way?”

Responding to the question, the actress decided to share what she had experienced after Stree 2. She revealed that several filmmakers approached her with new projects, and some of the offers came with substantial financial incentives. However, she had already made up her mind not to sign a film simply because an opportunity was available.

“Toh main mere baare mein share karti hu. Stree 2 ke baad mujhe bohot films offer hui thi. Bohot paise bhi offer hue. Lekin maine decide kar liya tha jab tak mujhe wo perfect kahaani nahi milti na, main kuch sign nahi karne wali hu,” Shraddha said.

In English, she explained that she had received many film offers and attractive financial proposals after Stree 2, but had decided not to sign anything until she found the right story.

Her answer suggests that the decision was not about a lack of opportunities. Instead, she wanted her next project to be one she felt strongly about, even if that meant turning down offers and waiting longer than expected.

‘I Needed to Be Patient’: Shraddha Kapoor on Her Decision to Wait

Shraddha further explained that she had to remain patient and trust her own judgement while waiting for the right opportunity. She acknowledged that the process was not necessarily easy, particularly when several projects were being offered to her after a successful film.

“Toh mere dil ne kaha ki patience mujhe rakhna padega. Aur maine wo kiya,” she added.

The actress said that her instincts told her patience was necessary, and she chose to follow that feeling rather than make a hurried career decision.

Looking back, Shraddha said she feels proud that she stayed committed to her choice. She also acknowledged that waiting for something one genuinely wants can become difficult, but believes that resisting the pressure to settle for an unsuitable opportunity can be worthwhile.

“Of course, it gets difficult to wait for something that you really, really want. But right now, I feel so proud that I decided to wait,” she shared.

She concluded her advice with a message about listening to one’s inner voice, particularly when making important career choices.

“Listen to that little voice in your heart. Sometimes it gets difficult, but it’s totally worth it,” Shraddha said.

Her comments have offered fans a more personal explanation for the gap between Stree 2 and her next theatrical release. Rather than treating the period as a race to sign another project, the actress says she chose to wait for a script that felt right to her.

Shraddha Kapoor’s Next Film Eetha to Release on December 4, 2026

Shraddha Kapoor is now preparing for the release of Eetha, her upcoming musical biographical drama directed by Laxman Utekar. Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations unveiled the film’s trailer on October 30, introducing Shraddha as Eetha Bai, a celebrated Lavani performer inspired by the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar.

The film explores the journey of a woman who makes her mark in the world of Maharashtra’s traditional folk performance while facing personal and social challenges. Its story draws from the life and legacy of Vithabai, whose contribution to Tamasha and Lavani made her a significant figure in the state’s folk-theatre tradition.

The film also stars Randeep Hooda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Siddharth Jadhav, Ishtiyak Khan and Anant Joshi. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar and Karishma Sharma, with music composed by Ajay-Atul.

Eetha is scheduled to release in theatres on December 4, 2026. The film will be Shraddha’s first theatrical release after Stree 2, making it the project that follows the period in which she says she chose to wait for the right story.

For now, the actress’s own explanation is clear: the offers were coming, but she did not want to sign a film merely to keep working. She chose patience over a quick decision, and Eetha is the next chapter in her film career.
