Another fan wrote, “You amaze me with your goodness. My best wishes are always with you and your family.”
Juhi Also Shares a Throwback
Juhi Babbar also joined in by sharing her own throwback photo with both her brothers. She proudly captioned the photo, “Raj Babbar Ji Ke Teeno Bacche…JUHI AARYA PRATEIK… A FACT NOBODY CAN CHANGE”
What Caused the Rift?
The cracks in the Babbar family became public when Prateik Babbar got married to actress Priya Banerjee on February 14, 2024. He reportedly did not invite his father, Raj Babbar, or his siblings to the wedding. This led to widespread speculation and talk about the family’s strained relationship.
Raj Babbar had two marriages. He married Nadira Babbar in 1975 and had two children with her—Juhi and Aarya. In 1983, he married legendary actress Smita Patil, and they had a son, Prateik. Sadly, Smita Patil passed away in 1986 shortly after giving birth.
Prateik Chooses to Honor His Mother
In an interview with media, Prateik explained that he has officially changed his name to Prateik Smita Patil. He said,“I don’t care about the repercussions. I want to be fully associated with my mother, her name, and her legacy.” He added that he wants nothing to “taint” her name and wants to be like her, not like his father.
Aarya Babbar Responds Gracefully
In response, Aarya told : “Smita ma is our mother too. Changing your name is your choice, but identity can’t be changed.” He added humorously that even if he changed his name tomorrow to something else, he would still be a Babbar.
