It is official now that Big B will work in the star-studded Thalaivar 170 alongside Rajnikanth. The pre-production work for the currently untitled film produced by Lyca Productions and directed by TJ Gnanavel is going on in full swing. Reportedly, Rajnikanth will play the role of a retired police officer in this action drama and Amitabh will be seen in a parallel lead role. The music of the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Stunt duo Anbariv will handle the action direction of the movie.
The veteran actor Rajnikanth has often referred to senior Bachchan as his mentor and idol. Finally, fans of both superstars will see them together on screen. With this film, Rajnikanth and TJ Gnanavel will collaborate for the very first time. Not much information is revealed about the movie as of now but so far it could be gathered that it would have an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati.
Rajnikanth’s recently released film Jailer was a huge hit at the box office collecting over Rs. 650 crore worldwide. His upcoming film includes daughter Aishwarya directed Lal Salaam and an untitled project with Lokesh Kanagaraj. Amitabh, on the other hand, was last seen on screen in Brahmastra, Goodbye, and Uunchai. His upcoming films are Ganapath and Kalki 2898 AD.
Thalaivar 170 is set to release in theaters in 2024.
