Anu Malik Pours Heart into ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’

Renowned singer and composer Anu Malik recently opened up about his experience composing music for the upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. The film is directed by actor Randeep Hooda. The film is more than just a biopic, it is a story of India’s fight for independence.

In an interview, Anu Malik expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “It’s been an absolute honor working on Veer Savarkar. I hold this film and its music close to my heart.” He particularly mentioned his dedication to two tracks, ‘Dharti ka Abhimaan’ and ‘Dariya O Dariya’, emphasizing, “I have given it my best shot.”


The film, set to release on March 22nd, features Randeep Hooda portraying the role of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Speaking about the project, Hooda shared, “This movie is based on his life, spanning from 1897 to 1950. I have fearlessly handled all the misinformation regarding him.”


To embody the character of Savarkar, Hooda underwent a physical transformation, shedding weight to resemble the iconic figure. Co-star Ankita Lokhande, who portrays Yamunabai Savarkar, also expressed her enthusiasm for the film. Describing her character as a symbol of strength for Indian women, Lokhande highlighted Yamunabai’s resilience and support for her husband during challenging times.


Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, commonly known as Veer Savarkar, was born on May 28, 1883, in Bhagur. The film, produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, is set to hit screens in Hindi and Marathi languages.


With its compelling storyline and stellar cast, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar aims to captivate audiences and shed light on the lesser-known aspects of India’s struggle for freedom.
