Sushant Singh, a well-known face in the Indian entertainment industry, has been in the limelight for his versatile acting skills and his outspokenness on social and political issues. The actor made his debut in 1998 with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Satya’ and has since appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including ‘Jungle,’ ‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,’ ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh,’ and the popular TV show ‘Savdhaan India.’ However, his contribution to the industry is not limited to acting alone.

Sushant Singh’s sincerity and dedication towards his work have always been his USP. Be it a small or significant role in a movie or a serial, he has left a lasting impression on the audience. Besides acting, Sushant is also an author, having co-written the book ‘Queens of Crime’ with Kulpreet Yadav.

However, what sets Sushant apart from his peers is his outspokenness on social and political issues. The actor has never shied away from expressing his views on sensitive issues, including #MeToo and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). In 2019, Sushant was allegedly removed from his role as host of ‘Savdhaan India’ due to his participation in the CAA protests. However, he later returned to the show, reaffirming his commitment to social justice.

Sushant’s passion for social justice is not limited to his on-screen persona. He has been actively involved in social and political causes, including his participation in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra. At the rally, Sushant recited Kunwar Narayan’s poem ‘Antim Unchai’ and praised Rahul Gandhi’s initiative to connect India. He also expressed his belief that those who uphold the constitution will ultimately win in the end.

Despite his efforts to bring about change, Sushant’s activism has not been without controversy. In 2021, his Twitter account was temporarily withheld due to legal reasons, highlighting the challenges that individuals face when speaking out on sensitive issues.

Sushant Singh’s latest project is Hotstar Specials’ ‘City of Dreams’ season 2, which is set to release on May 26, 2023. The show is a political thriller set in Mumbai, where the city’s power dynamics come into play as a family vies for control. The show’s first and second season received critical acclaim for its gripping storyline and stellar performances, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next season.
