A new season of Zakir Khan’s Farzi Mushaira has begun, bringing with it some familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Performing their poetic personas alongside Zakir are actors like Prachi Desai and actor-producer Faisal Malik. Faisal Malik, who won praise for playing Up-pradhan Ji in Panchayat, was seen showing off his poetic side on the show.
Social media was overwhelmed with a lot of affection and awe as soon as Faisal Malik uploaded the mushaira from the teaser. Some inquired about the third season of the popular online series Panchayat, while some applauded him for his literary approach.
Discussing of Faisal’s successful show Panchayat, his sincere performance, desi dialect, and likeable attitude as Up-Pradhan Ji not only drew him a lot of accolades but also put him in the running for the 2022 Filmfare OTT Awards.
In Panchayat, Faisal’s performance added to the amusement quotient of the show. While it would be easy to stereotype him based on his immediate role as a foodie, Faisal’s acting ability conveys the depth of a hardworking person at terms with life and someone who stays true to his beliefs, something which came across well especially in season 2.
Faisal was a featured guest on Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show as well, when he reminisced about his experience filming the Panchayat series. He also revealed a fascinating fact regarding a scene from Season. In his words, “For a scene in Panchayat 1, actual beer cans were brought. Raghu Bhai (Raghubir Yadav) took a sip and discovered it tasted exactly like the real thing. We all laughed, believing Raghu Bhai was drinking in between scenes.”
