The talented actor Gulshan Devaiah, who has garnered immense praise for his exceptional performances in the recently released streaming series ‘Dahaad,’ is not only making waves in the entertainment industry but also advocating for the financial support of fellow artists.
In an era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are increasingly dominating creative jobs, Devaiah believes it is his responsibility to uplift artists by providing them with the recognition and financial compensation they deserve for their remarkable work.
Recently, Prasad Bhat, a Bengaluru-based caricature artist and the founder of Graphicurry, approached Gulshan Devaiah with a heartfelt tribute, intending to immortalize the actor through his art. However, Devaiah’s appreciation for the gesture led him to commission the artwork, understanding the importance of supporting artists financially in today’s evolving landscape.
Speaking about this unique collaboration, Gulshan Devaiah shared his perspective, saying, “If I genuinely admire something, I am more than willing to pay for it. While I am incredibly grateful and privileged to receive offers from artists who wish to create something for me without charge, I firmly believe that artists should be compensated for their craft, especially in this age of Machine Learning and AI. It is the least I can do to support them by offering fair remuneration for their artistic endeavors.”
Prasad Bhat meticulously captured Gulshan Devaiah’s distinctive looks from various movies and series, including ‘Commando 3,’ ‘Dahaad,’ ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela,’ ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota,’ ‘Ghost Stories,’ ‘Durangaa,’ ‘Badhaai Do,’ ‘Hunterrr,’ ‘Death in the Gunj,’ and ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots.’
Upcoming Projects
While Gulshan Devaiah continues to make his mark in the industry, his latest venture being the action thriller movie ‘Ulajh,’ where he will star alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Malayalam sensation Roshan Mathew, he also has exciting projects lined up. He will reunite with his ‘Badhaai Do’ co-star Rajkummar Rao in Raj and DK’s web series titled ‘Guns & Gulaabs.’ Devaiah revealed in an interview that their roles in this series will be quite the opposite of their previous collaboration. “In Badhaai Do, I was romancing him, but here we will be bashing each other,” he humorously shared.
In a world where technology continues to evolve, Devaiah’s stance emphasizes the significance of uplifting artists and preserving the human touch and creativity that AI and ML cannot replicate.
