Harry Potter is heading back to the big screen — but this time, not as a simple re-release. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Warner Bros is introducing a revolutionary “shared-reality” edition of the iconic 2001 film. This immersive revival comes just ahead of HBO’s major reboot series, marking a transformative moment for the Wizarding World franchise.
What Is the Shared-Reality Edition?
The studio is teaming up with Cosm, the innovative tech company known for creating dome-based experiences for The Matrix and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This partnership brings an entirely new way to experience Hogwarts. Instead of watching the story unfold on a flat screen, viewers will be enveloped in it.
Cosm’s massive 87-foot LED domes fill the viewer’s entire field of vision, recreating the film in nearly 360 degrees. Using custom filmmaking technology, the familiar world becomes something deeper and more immersive — almost like stepping through the wall at Platform 9¾.

A 2026 Release With Global Expansion
The shared-reality edition is scheduled for release in early 2026, with ticket sales expected to open around the same time. Cosm currently operates immersive venues in Los Angeles and Dallas and is preparing to expand to Detroit and Atlanta.
A Collaborative Wizarding Experience
For this special edition, Cosm is joining hands with Little Cinema and MakeMake Entertainment to build the immersive presentation. Together, they promise an experience that blends nostalgia with state-of-the-art technology — offering longtime fans and new audiences a chance to rediscover the magic of Hogwarts in a never-before-seen form.
