Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that the film will no longer be released on its originally scheduled date. He shared, “#BreakingNews…#Emergency postponed… Won’t release on 6 Sept 2024. #ZeeStudios #KanganaRanaut.” As of now, neither Kangana Ranaut nor her production company, Manikarnika Films, has commented on the delay. Zee Studios, the film’s production house, has also remained silent on the issue.

On August 30, Kangana Ranaut took to social media to address the situation. She released a video clarifying that Emergency has not yet been certified by the CBFC. Kangana explained, “There have been rumors that our film Emergency has been certified by the Censor Board. This is not true. Our film had received clearance, but the certification process was stalled due to multiple death threats directed at the CBFC members.”
