Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, quietly recorded two full albums in the months leading up to his sudden death in October 2024. Reports from The Daily Mail reveal that these albums hold some of his most personal and heartfelt music, made during a rare and focused time in his life.
Payne tragically passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. Fans were shocked by the news, especially since he had just appeared on Netflix’s new music show Building The Band, which was filmed shortly before his passing. His episodes are scheduled to begin airing on July 16.
During the premiere of the show, host AJ McLean paid tribute, saying, “We dedicate this series to Liam and his family.”
Two Albums, Two Different Journeys
Sources close to Liam shared that the first of the two albums was recorded in Camden, North London. He worked with Jamie Scott, a well-known producer who also helped write One Direction’s popular song Night Changes. This album reportedly reflects Liam’s deep and emotional side.
The second album was recorded in the summer of 2024 in Palm Beach, Florida, and Sweden. It was during this time that Liam had moved to the U.S. with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Friends say he was clean, sober, and fully committed to making music again.
Although these albums have not been released yet, insiders say there are talks about sharing some of the songs alongside the airing of his Netflix episodes. However, nothing has been finalized. If the music is to be released, Liam’s family will need to approve it.
A Healthier, Happier Liam
The music recorded in Florida is seen as especially meaningful. Liam was reportedly living a healthy lifestyle—clean and sober for four months, exercising regularly, and focusing on his mental and physical health.
A close friend, Roger Nores, supported him during this time and said Liam “was really looking after himself” and “had turned a corner.”

Legal Questions Still Unanswered
The investigation into Liam’s death is still ongoing. Two men in Argentina—Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra—are currently being held while awaiting trial. They are accused of supplying cocaine to Liam, but both deny selling drugs. They claim that any drug use was shared and not part of a transaction.
Family Supports Netflix Tribute
Liam’s family has given their blessing for the release of Building The Band. His sister Nicola shared online that watching the series helped her feel closer to her brother.
Liam didn’t leave a will, but his estate—valued at around £24.3 million—will go to his 8-year-old son Bear. Cheryl Tweedy, Bear’s mother, will help manage the estate.
Liam’s Legacy Lives On
Even though Liam is no longer with us, his voice and talent may still reach fans around the world. With two albums waiting to be heard and a heartfelt tribute on Netflix, his story is far from over.
Fans everywhere are hoping they’ll get to hear Liam’s final songs soon—and remember the artist he was becoming.
