The Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj is all set to welcome millions of devotees and culture enthusiasts from around the globe. With a stellar lineup of renowned singers and grand cultural celebrations, this sacred festival promises to be a blend of spirituality, art, and heritage.
Famous Singers to Perform
Popular artists like Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Hariharan, and Maithili Thakur are set to take the stage in Prayagraj during this mega event. Other celebrated performers such as Mohit Chauhan, Hans Raj Hans, and Padma award-winning artists will also add to the grandeur of the festivities.
Kalagram: A Hub of Art and Culture
The Ministry of Culture has created a vibrant cultural space called Kalagram, which spans over 4,000 hectares in the Kumbh Mela area. Kalagram showcases India’s rich traditions and modern capabilities through a unique blend of art, crafts, and performances. Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated this cultural hub, which features seven Sanskriti Aangans representing India’s diverse craft traditions.

Grand Setup and Attractions
Kalagram boasts a magnificent 10,000-capacity Ganga Pandal, along with three additional stages located in Areil, Jhansi, and Triveni, which can host 2,000 to 4,000 spectators each. Visitors will enter through a breathtaking 35-ft wide and 54-ft high grand gateway decorated with images of the 12 Jyotirlingas and the legendary tale of Lord Shiva consuming poison (halahal).
The main stage, spanning 104-ft wide and 72-ft deep, is set against a stunning Char Dham-themed backdrop. Visitors can also experience an immersive 360-degree light and sound show called “Ganga Avtaran,” which depicts the celestial descent of the River Ganga.
A Cultural Extravaganza
Over 15,000 artists, including Sangeet Natak Akademi honorees and Padma awardees, will perform on multiple stages throughout Prayagraj during the 45-day event. Highlights include week-long productions by the National School of Drama and Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, presented on the grand Kalagram stage.
Visitors can also explore exhibitions curated by institutions like the Archaeological Survey of India, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, and the Allahabad Museum. These exhibits showcase the historical and spiritual significance of the Kumbh Mela through artifacts, digital displays, and posters.
Connecting with the Cosmos
For a unique experience, celestial stargazing sessions will be organized on select nights, offering visitors a chance to connect with the cosmos in a serene environment.
Literary and Artistic Treats
The event will also host a special book exhibition curated by the Sahitya Akademi and Zonal Cultural Centres, displaying timeless works of literature. The Sanskriti Aangans will offer a visual journey through India’s diverse craft traditions, inspired by iconic temple art and architecture.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, running from January 13 to February 26, is expected to attract over 40 crore devotees from around the world. With its vibrant cultural performances, immersive exhibits, and spiritual ambiance, it promises to be one of the largest and most memorable religious gatherings on earth.
