Night Song, the full-spectrum music company behind acclaimed projects such as Scam 1992, Jigra, Coke Studio’s Khalasi and The Buckingham Murders, has joined hands with Aamir Khan Productions for the upcoming spy-comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos.
The collaboration brings together a strong creative team and a production house known for backing distinctive, content-driven cinema.
The film marks Vir Das’ directorial debut and is slated for release on 16 January 2026.
Building the Sound of a Spy-Comedy
Co-founded by Achint Thakkar and Parth Pandya, Night Song has composed and produced the film’s entire soundtrack.
The music has been crafted to balance action and humour, enhancing the narrative while keeping the tone witty, energetic and engaging.
Each track is designed to support the story rather than overpower it, allowing the film’s comic timing and spy elements to shine.
‘Banda Tere Liye’ Breaks the Formula
One of the standout tracks from the album is ‘Banda Tere Liye’, a high-energy number that subverts a familiar Bollywood trope.
Envisioned by director Vir Das as a male-led “anti-item song,” the track places the male character at the centre of performance — a rare and unconventional choice in mainstream cinema.
The concept has already sparked curiosity for challenging traditional song structures in Hindi films.

A Bold Mix of Genres and Roots
The song was built around its striking hook line rather than a traditional melody, setting the creative direction early on.
Blending club, funk and alt-pop influences, Banda Tere Liye delivers a contemporary sound palette.
An earthy Indian instrumental hook adds a rustic, almost village-market-like feel, giving the track a fresh and unexpected flavour.
Creators on the Musical Journey
Night Song founders Achint Thakkar and Parth Pandya described the project as a creatively rewarding experience.
They highlighted the freedom to experiment with genre-bending tracks while staying true to the film’s narrative needs.
Directors Vir Das and Kavi Shastri also praised the team for elevating their musical vision and seamlessly exploring multiple genres within a single album.
Jay-Ho Buzz
The soundtrack of Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos features 12 tracks, including five full-length songs and seven songettes.
The diverse album reflects the film’s playful yet action-driven tone.
The project marks another important milestone for Night Song as it continues to expand its presence across Indian cinema.
