I said, ‘I am not walking down that aisle till you propose.’ Because the shaadi date was fixed, parents had met, and the wedding prep was going on. But the boy hadn’t proposed. I was like, I need a story. I know we were getting married, but I need a story for life.”
The Surprise Proposal
Rakul went on to explain how the actual proposal happened. It took place during their bachelor’s trip, a time when she had completely forgotten about her demand for a proposal. Jackky Bhagnani managed to surprise her, thanks to the help of their mutual friend, Bhumi Pednekar. “Bhumi played a very important role because she sort of orchestrated it. So, I couldn’t guess. Bhumi is his best friend and, of course, a great friend of mine now, so she orchestrated the whole thing so I couldn’t tell,” Rakul added.

After the surprise proposal, Rakul and Jackky shared their joy with their fans on Instagram by posting their official wedding pictures. Rakul looked stunning in a pink-peach lehenga adorned with enormous diamonds.
