A casual visit by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan to Mumbai’s Film City this week sparked a wave of speculation online. Fans were convinced that the megastar might be making a cameo in Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, after photos of Bachchan on the film’s sets surfaced on social media.

Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia shared a few behind-the-scenes snapshots on Instagram Stories, captioning them, “Guess what he is telling me? #legendonsetstoday.” The cryptic caption immediately set the rumour mill spinning, with fans wondering if the Sholay star was joining forces with Salman Khan for a surprise appearance.

Apoorva Lakhia Clarifies: “He Was Shooting Nearby”

Putting an end to the speculation, director Apoorva Lakhia confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan is not part of Battle of Galwan. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Lakhia explained,

“No, he was shooting for a commercial in the opposite studio, so I went to meet him and said hello.”

The filmmaker’s clarification comes after days of online chatter suggesting a possible collaboration between the two industry veterans. Lakhia emphasized that Bachchan’s visit was purely coincidental and unrelated to the Salman Khan-starrer.

A Creative Bond That Spans Decades

Interestingly, Lakhia and Bachchan share a long-standing professional relationship. The two worked together in Ek Ajnabee (2005) and Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost (2003). Their creative rapport and mutual respect are well known in the industry, which makes their friendly catch-up unsurprising.

The director added that their meeting was simply a warm reunion.

“It was just a friendly chat, nothing to do with Battle of Galwan,” Lakhia said, putting an end to the rumours of an on-screen collaboration.

Chitrangada Singh Joins the Cast

While Amitabh Bachchan may not be involved, the project continues to make headlines. Sources close to the production revealed that Chitrangada Singh has joined the cast for Battle of Galwan’s second shooting schedule in Mumbai.

The addition of Chitrangada brings more star power and emotional depth to the film, which promises to blend action, patriotism, and heartfelt storytelling.

About Battle of Galwan

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is inspired by the real-life 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Salman Khan will be seen in the role of an Indian Army officer, leading his men through a story of courage, brotherhood, and sacrifice.

The film is expected to be a large-scale production with high-octane battle sequences and emotionally charged moments. It’s being described as one of Salman Khan’s most intense and patriotic roles to date.

Jay-Ho Reel

With Apoorva Lakhia confirming that Amitabh Bachchan’s visit was merely a coincidence, fans can now shift their excitement back to Salman Khan’s powerful portrayal in Battle of Galwan. The project is shaping up to be one of Bollywood’s biggest patriotic dramas — a tribute to the soldiers who stood tall in the face of adversity.
