After the massive success of its first season, Amazon Prime Video’s crime thriller Dahaad is officially gearing up for its return. According to the latest reports, Sonakshi Sinha is set to resume shooting for Dahaad Season 2, with filming scheduled to begin this month in Rajasthan.

The first season, which earned widespread acclaim for its gripping narrative and powerhouse performances, left audiences eagerly waiting for what comes next. With production now back on track, anticipation around the second installment is at an all-time high.

Filming Resumes In Rajasthan

As per a report by Mid-day, the makers have restarted work on Dahaad 2, and Rajasthan will once again serve as a key filming location, just like in the first season. The region played a crucial role in shaping the show’s gritty atmosphere, and its return signals continuity in tone and storytelling.

The second season will once again feature Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, Vijay Varma, and Sohum Shah, though an official cast confirmation is still awaited. However, recent social media activity from the lead actors has strongly hinted at their return.

Prime Video Greenlit Season 2 After Massive Success

Back in 2025, The Hollywood Reporter India confirmed that Amazon Prime Video officially greenlit the second season of Dahaad, following the show’s strong reception.

A source told the publication,
“Dahaad 2 is on, and the team is working on the script. Prime Video is aiming to mount the show on a big scale, as the first season did extremely well, garnering immense praise. The work is underway, and the team will figure out a shooting timeline soon.”

With production now reportedly resuming, it appears the scripting and pre-production phases are largely complete.

Sonakshi Sinha And Gulshan Devaiah Hint At Their Return

Fueling excitement further, Sonakshi Sinha and Gulshan Devaiah’s Instagram stories have all but confirmed their comeback.

Sonakshi, who played Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati, reshared The Hollywood Reporter India’s post announcing Season 2 and wrote:
“Finally!!! Can’t wait to get back in that uniform!!!”

Meanwhile, Gulshan Devaiah, who portrayed Inspector Devi Lal Singh, added a playful touch by posting:
“Now… where did I keep that uniform.”

The posts instantly caught fans’ attention, strengthening speculation that the original core cast will reprise their roles.

About Dahaad

Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, Dahaad premiered in 2023 and starred Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, Vijay Varma, and Sohum Shah. The series is inspired by the real-life crimes of Mohan Kumar, infamously known as Cyanide Mohan.

The show made history by becoming the first-ever Indian web series to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, a milestone that further cemented its critical credibility. It went on to receive glowing reviews for its intense storytelling, nuanced performances, and socially relevant themes.

What To Expect From Dahaad 2

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, Dahaad 2 is expected to expand its narrative scale, delve deeper into character arcs, and maintain the chilling realism that defined the first season. With Rajasthan once again as its backdrop and the original creative team steering the project, expectations are sky-high.

With filming set to resume this month, fans can expect more updates—including casting confirmations and a release timeline—in the coming weeks.
