Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo gets a massive response from the audience as indicated by the rate of advance bookings. With the advance bookings itself, the film has beaten the record of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I.
Actor Sanjay Dutt debuts in the Tamil film industry with this film. As can be seen in the film’s poster, a fuming Vijay grabs Dutt by his throat. Back in 2020, Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He had resumed work soon after his recovery. Sanjay Dutt looks menacing as the villain in this movie and his fans are already thrilled to see him after a long time. Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj stars Vijay and Trisha as the lead hero and heroine. Sanjay Dutt is the antagonist here playing the role of Antony Das. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and English.
The makers of Leo are running quirky ad campaigns to promote the film. The leading packaged drinking water company, Bisleri has partnered with Leo presenting a limited edition packaged water bottle featuring ‘Leo’ coins.
The film was initially titled Thalapathy 67 as it is actor Vijay’s 67th film as a hero. Leo, also marketed as Leo: Bloody Sweet is an action-thriller in which the story revolves around a young man (Vijay) who is a chocolate maker. Also starring Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mysskin the film is slated to release on October 19, 2023. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the title track, “Bloody Sweet” has already been released.
The film has been shot across numerous locations in Chennai, Kashmir, and the US. It is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. This film is a part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe following the superhits Kaithi and Vikram. Currently, the post-production work is going on for Leo.
