Why Dhurandhar: The Revenge Trailer Won’t Release on March 3 — Here’s the Real Reason

The much-anticipated trailer of Dhurandhar: The Revenge was expected to drop digitally on Tuesday, March 3. However, in a last-minute development, the makers decided to postpone the launch — leaving fans curious about what led to the sudden shift.

Sources close to the production have now revealed the real reason behind the delay.

Chandra Grahan Behind the Postponement

Contrary to speculation, reports about the March 3 trailer release were accurate. The team had indeed locked the date for the digital unveiling. However, they were later informed that March 3 coincides with a Chandra Grahan (lunar eclipse) — an event traditionally considered inauspicious for new beginnings in Indian culture.

The eclipse window is reportedly from 9:39 am to 6:46 pm, a period during which major launches are generally avoided. Since film trailers are typically unveiled around noon — falling within the eclipse timing — the producers decided to defer the release.

The decision reflects the industry’s continued sensitivity toward cultural beliefs, especially for high-stakes projects.

Earlier Plans at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre Were Scrapped

Initially, the makers had planned a grand trailer launch event on March 5 at Mumbai’s iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). That plan was later shelved in favour of a digital premiere on March 3.

Now, with the eclipse affecting the revised schedule, insiders suggest the trailer may instead release on March 5 or March 6, most likely through a digital drop without a physical event.

An official confirmation on the final date is still awaited.

Star-Studded Cast Raises Expectations

The Dhurandhar franchise features an ensemble cast including:

  • Ranveer Singh
  • Akshaye Khanna
  • Sanjay Dutt
  • R. Madhavan
  • Arjun Rampal
  • Sara Arjun
  • Rakesh Bedi

The first installment followed the gripping journey of an Indian spy infiltrating Pakistan’s criminal and political network, setting the stage for a high-octane sequel.

A Massive Box Office Clash Ahead

Adding to the drama, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is set for a major box office showdown with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic marks the return of Yash and features an impressive cast including:

  • Kiara Advani
  • Nayanthara
  • Huma Qureshi
  • Akshay Oberoi

The trailer of Toxic is scheduled to be unveiled on March 8 at a grand event in Bengaluru, further intensifying the buzz around this impending cinematic clash.

What’s Next?

While the exact release date of the Dhurandhar: The Revenge trailer remains under wraps, anticipation continues to build. With a powerful cast and an espionage-driven narrative, the sequel is positioned as one of the year’s most awaited action thrillers.

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer — but if the hype is anything to go by, the trailer drop is likely to be worth it.
