Beneath the Surface: Seema’s Story

On the outside, Seema seems to have it all. She runs her own business, has a caring husband, a lovely daughter, and a close circle of friends. But under her composed exterior hides a storm — a deep-rooted anger that she’s never truly faced.

Over time, this hidden rage begins to seep into every part of her life. Conversations become confrontations. Small problems turn into emotional explosions. And slowly, everything she holds dear begins to slip away. Seema always believed she was in control… until her anger took the reins and changed everything.

When Words Become Weapons

WORDS OF RAGE

We often hear that words are powerful — and this film shows us just how true that is. A simple conversation can turn into a heated argument, and in moments of anger, words can cut deeper than any weapon.

But Words of Rage also shows us the flip side. Just as words can wound, they can also heal. In the film, when Seema reaches her lowest point, it’s not judgment but understanding that helps her begin the journey back. Her family, friends, and coworkers choose to walk with her instead of walking away — and that makes all the difference.

Behind the Lens: The Writer & Director’s Personal Truth

Hemant M. Pandya, the writer and director, poured his own experiences into this story. “Anger is something we don’t talk about enough,” he says. “We talk about depression, anxiety, and trauma — but not the quiet destruction that comes from unchecked rage.”

For Hemant, creating this film was a personal journey of reflection. Like Seema, he too has battled anger. And he knows firsthand how much harm it can cause when left unspoken. This film is his way of breaking the silence and encouraging others to look at anger not with fear or shame, but with empathy and care.

A Star Who Knows the Struggle

Seema Chaudhary — the lead actress and also the film’s producer — gives a raw and honest performance. She brings her own understanding of emotional pain to the role, having seen how unspoken feelings can destroy even the strongest relationships.

A Boston-based legal professional, Seema is deeply connected to the community the film portrays. She’s not just acting — she’s telling a story she believes in. Her performance is layered with vulnerability and strength, showing us the complexity of a woman who is breaking apart inside but still trying to hold it all together.

As a producer, Seema was also involved behind the scenes, shaping the film’s emotional tone and ensuring every scene stayed true to the heart of the story.

A Team That Cared About the Message

WORDS OF RAGE

The film came to life through a passionate team of creatives. Co-producer Kunal Joshi, based in New Jersey, brought his project management expertise to ensure everything ran smoothly from pre-production to the final cut. His focus on both creativity and execution helped give the film its professional polish.

Other key contributors include:

  • Nicholas Pietroniro, the cinematographer who beautifully captured the emotional tension through visuals.
  • Simone Cilio, the music composer whose score adds depth and feeling to every scene.
  • Karl Ryan Erikson, the editor who shaped the raw footage into a powerful story.

From costumes to sound design, every element of the film was thoughtfully handled by a dedicated team that truly believed in the message.

Inspired by Real Conversations

What makes Words of Rage even more impactful is that it’s inspired by true experiences. Many of the scenes reflect real-life arguments, emotions, and unspoken tension from within immigrant households and community spaces. For anyone who has ever felt like they couldn’t express their anger, or who has seen a loved one spiral because of bottled-up emotions, this film will feel deeply familiar.

More Than a Film — A Conversation Starter

The film asks an important question: What happens when we stop judging people for their anger, and start trying to understand it?

Too often, people suffering from emotional struggles are met with silence or shame. Words of Rage challenges that. It’s not just about the damage caused by anger — it’s about the healing that can happen when we choose empathy over judgment.

This is a story that needs to be seen, shared, and talked about — in families, friend groups, workplaces, and beyond. It’s a call for compassion, a push for emotional awareness, and a reminder that no one heals alone.

Meet the Cast

The film features a talented cast who bring their characters to life with honesty and emotion:

  • Seema Chaudhary as Seema
  • Vernika Singh as Meera
  • Manish Dhall as Raj
  • Reshma Nair, Subrata Das, Lakshmi Puranik, Kavita Agarwal, Marium Butt, and others round out a diverse and heartfelt ensemble.

Each actor adds depth and relatability to a story that speaks to so many lives.

Rooted in Community

Shot entirely in and around Boston, Words of Rage is a film that feels local but speaks globally. With its roots in the South Asian diaspora experience, it shines a light on the emotional complexities that exist within close-knit communities — particularly when cultural expectations meet internal struggles.

A heartfelt nod goes to Sandeep Asija, Founder of Asija Properties and a respected TiE Boston Charter Member. His unwavering support to the production assistant on Words of Rage went far beyond the usual backing—it reflected his sincere belief in storytelling and the power of collaboration. A familiar face in Boston’s creative community, Sandeep consistently champions artistic events and uplifts every production he touches. As he shared, “I am incredibly excited to support Words of Rage—bringing its story to life alongside such passionate talent inspires me deeply.” His generosity and enthusiasm brought warmth and inspiration to every moment behind the scenes.
