In a recent conversation with Cineulagam, Yogi Babu shared exciting news about his involvement in one of the most anticipated films of his career Jailer 2.

In 2023, Jailer became a massive hit, and Yogi Babu’s role was a standout. He played a quirky character caught in a thrilling mix of murder, heists, and redemption. His unique performance, full of humor and flair, added to the film’s charm. Yogi Babu has worked with director Nelson Dilipkumar on several projects, including Kolamaavu Kokila, Doctor, Beast, and Jailer. Each film highlighted his comedic talent in distinctive ways.

What to Expect from ‘Jailer 2’

Yogi Babu revealed that he will once again be collaborating with Nelson Dilipkumar for Jailer 2. According to Yogi Babu, Nelson is crafting something truly special for his role in the sequel. He hinted that it would offer a fresh and exciting twist on the comedy that fans have come to love in their previous collaborations. “Nelson is writing something really special for my role in Jailer 2,” Yogi Babu said. “It will be an interesting take on the kind of comedy we do together.”

However, Yogi Babu was tight-lipped about the specifics of the project. He didn’t disclose whether Jailer 2 would be a direct sequel or a prequel. “The official announcement will be made soon. I don’t want to add to the rumors,” he explained.

Aside from his role in Jailer 2, Yogi Babu is also starring in Chimbudeven’s Boat. This is the first time he’s working with Chimbudeven, who is known for his successful collaborations with comedy actors like Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Ganja Karuppu. The boat features an ensemble cast including Gouri G Kishan, MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Chaams, Madhumitha, and Sha Ra. With music composed by Ghibran and produced by Prabha Premkumar and C Kalaivani, Boat is set to compete with several other films at the box office, such as Mazhai Pidikkadha Manidhan, Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu, Pechi, and Jama.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is preparing for his next big film, Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for Jai Bhim, this cop drama will also feature Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier alongside Rajinikanth.
