Actress Tanisha Mukherjee Goes With NGO Volunteers To Clean Bandra Coast On International Coastal Cleanup Day

16th September is observed as the International Coastal Cleanup Day, aiming to bring cleanliness and purity to nature.  Actress turned environmentalist, Tanisha Mukherjee runs an NGO named Stamp Foundation, India that works to create awareness and actively participate in cleaning the environment. On 16th September, she came along with her NGO volunteers to participate in a “Coastal Cleanup Drive” organized by My Green Society at Carter Road, Bandra West. College students also took part in this event. Together they collected plastics, glass shreds, cotton, and other non-degradable waste in 8 garbage bags. The collected waste was taken by Stamp Foundation for disposal.  

Veteran actor, Jackie Shroff and Israeli Consul General, Kobbi Shoshani were also seen to participate in the cause and spread awareness. Shroff chatted with locals and urged them to maintain a clean beach. He encouraged the youths to preserve nature. 

Apart from her roots in a film family (her father being filmmaker, Shomu Mukherjee, and her mother, actress Tanuja, big sister, actress Kajol), Tanisha is best known for a series of Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films she has worked in. She has appeared in several Bollywood flicks including Sssshhh…, Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, Neal ‘n’ Nikki, Tango Charlie, and others. The first major hit film she was a part of was Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar. Tanisha’s Tamil film Unnale Unnale opposite Vinay Rai was a huge hit at the box office and got her a nomination for Best Debut Actress as well. 

She has also participated in a bunch of telly shows, from being a contestant in Bigg Boss 7 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 to being a judge in Gangs of Haseepur. Tanisha became the 1st runner-up in Bigg Boss and gained a lot of admiration from the public.

The beautiful actress is doing a commendable job as an environmentalist and her active participation in this recent event will surely inspire many, especially, the young generation.
