Leading Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has completed 20 years in the Bollywood film industry. The beautiful actress though wasn’t born in India started her career with a film called Boom that tanked at the box office. She was a young girl at the time and couldn’t even speak fluent Hindi. From the rough start back in 2003, today Katrina Kaif is one of the top actresses in Bollywood. She is a well-known face in India and abroad.
In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Katrina’s husband and actor Vicky Kaushal praised his wife for her hardships and also how his life has changed after marrying her. The Masaan actor said, “I think it is very inspirational. Now knowing her even more, it’s truly inspirational. Now I know her as a human and she’s a real fighter, especially when things are not working in her favour. She’s a go-getter. I learn a lot from her.”
He added, “My mindset is very different. I am more of a chiller. I am like, ‘Relax, ho jaayega,’ but she is like a fighter. She goes for it; she attacks it. I have realized that the way she is and what she has achieved for herself, in the last 20 years, is incredible. From where she came and then just being here and adapting, it’s incredible. She definitely is a star.”
Born in Hong Kong, Katrina has lived in many countries before moving to London. She started an early career as a fashion model at several fashion shows. She was noticed by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad at a London fashion show who immediately offered Katrina a role in Boom (2003). Although the film was a flop Katrina started earning success in India as a model.
She started getting film offers from Telugu and Hindi film industries. Eventually, she became a star with a series of smash hits with Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan. Katrina has been criticized for her acting skills by the critics again and again but her fans have always loved her. In spite of her not-so-ethnic looks, she had charmed the Indian screens and ruled Bollywood for two decades now.
Katrina will be seen on screen this year-end in the much-anticipated spy-action-thriller Tiger 3 with Salman Khan and Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi.
