After Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s huge success at the box office Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt will work again in the new film Jigra. The director-producer recently took to Instagram and launched the trailer captioning, “The return of …my #Jigra, @aliabhatt once again on this exceptional story helmed by @vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love & unshakeable courage!” He also announced the movie will hit the theaters on 27 September 2024.
Directed by Vasan Bala, the trailer of Jigra looks incredibly different. The little trailer starts with the GK Chesterton quote, “The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it.”
In the video we see a dejected Alia Bhatt standing alone in a deserted alley, donning a backpack. A voiceover suggests she is promising her brother that she will not let anything happen to him no matter what because his brother wears the rakhi from her. And so she will always protect her brother.
The makers have displayed Alia’s name in a totally unusual creative way in the trailer. With this movie, the National award-winning actress is stepping into the producer’s shoes as well as she is co-producing the film with Dharma Productions. The ace actress Alia Bhatt has also shared the trailer on Instagram with a caption, “From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started.”
The 30-year-old actress debuted in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s college romance, Student of the Year in 2012. Alia is riding high with recent back-to-back smash hits like Brahmastra, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Darlings, and the American spy action thriller, Heart of Stone.
Alia shared on Instagram that each day is different for her “exciting, challenging (and a little scary)…” as an actor as well as a producer. She said she is eager to share more details about Jigra as the work progresses.
