“If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.”. Education is the key for women to achieve financial security and independence. In the modern age where despite so much progress, the fight for women’s education continues unabated as millions of women in both developed and developing nations fail to complete their education, leaving them prone to domestic violence, unhappy marriages, and childcare.
Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show has always been a strong proponent of women’s emancipation, and Jay-Ho has now made another stride in this approach. Our show has joined hands with WADA (Welfare Association for Downtrodden), a non-profit organization headquartered in India that works to empower girl children by addressing their educational needs and providing self-defense training.
About WADA
WADA (Welfare Association for Downtrodden) was started by journalists Prabha Gupta and Gyaneshwar Dayal who were inspired by their reporting in rural India to start an initiative to help downtrodden people. Prabha Gupta also runs a FM radio channel Alive 90.8, through which she raises awareness about issues and concerns of economically disadvantaged people, especially those about women and child empowerment
WADA believes that empowered girls educate the entire family. WADA sponsors the fees of such girl children whose parents are unable to bear the fees for their further studies.
Jay-Ho fervently supports the cause and, in order to draw attention to it, kindly asks for your support as well, so that WADA can continue with their admirable work. A modest donation to the cause will make a big difference.
