Popular television actor Dipika Kakar recently made her first appearance after undergoing a major surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. She appeared in her husband Shoaib Ibrahim’s vlog and couldn’t hold back her emotions as she talked about her health and recovery.
Dipika, who is known for her roles in hit shows like Sasural Simar Ka, shared that she is slowly healing and feels deeply thankful for all the love and prayers that have come her way during this tough time.
Dipika Shares Her Health Update
In the vlog shared by Shoaib on Monday, Dipika appeared on camera for the first time since her surgery. She looked emotional but strong. With a heartfelt smile, she thanked everyone who supported her with kind words and prayers.
She said, “I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. So many people have prayed for me. Even in the hospital, nurses and staff from different departments came and said, ‘Ma’am, you’ll be okay.’ Families of other patients came to me and said they were praying for me too. That means a lot to me.”
Dipika also shared how difficult things were for her, especially after the surgery. Even something as simple as a cough caused her pain because of the stitches. However, she assured her fans that she is doing much better now and recovering slowly but steadily.
14-Hour-Long Surgery and Recovery
Dipika’s journey hasn’t been easy. She underwent a 14-hour-long surgery after being diagnosed with stage 2 malignant liver cancer. During the surgery, the doctors had to remove her gallbladder (due to stones) and a portion of her liver to take out the cancerous tumor.
Shoaib explained in the video, “The tumor was removed properly. Since the liver had cancer, a small part of it had to be cut. But there is no need to worry, because the liver is one of the few organs in the body that can heal and grow back naturally.”

How It All Started
A few weeks ago, Dipika had shared a note on Instagram where she revealed how it all began. She said she went to the hospital after feeling pain in the upper part of her stomach. Tests later revealed that she had a tennis-ball-sized tumor in her liver, and further diagnosis confirmed it was stage 2 cancer.
She described the time as one of the hardest her family had ever faced.
Staying Strong With Support
Despite the pain and emotional challenges, Dipika and Shoaib have shown strength and courage. Fans, family, friends, hospital staff, and even strangers have come forward to wish her well, and that support has clearly touched her deeply.
Dipika said she will talk more once she feels stronger. For now, she is focused on healing and getting back to her normal life.
We wish her a full and speedy recovery.
