गुलज़ार जी के 91वें जन्मदिवस पर उन्हें समर्पित मेरी लिखी कुछ पंक्तियाँ –

सुनो, गुलज़ार…
तुम्हारी कलम
स्याही से ज़्यादा
ख़ामोशियाँ लिखती है।

तुम्हारे अल्फ़ाज़
एक जादुई दुनिया बुनते हैं,
जिसमें प्रणय, वियोग और मिलन के
अनूठे दृश्य दिखाई पड़ते हैं।

तुम्हारी नज़्में
टूटे हुए आईने की तरह,
हर टुकड़े में
ख़ुद को देख लेने का हुनर देती हैं।

कभी तुम धूप के टुकड़े चुनकर
काग़ज़ पर रख देते हो,
तो कभी रात की स्याही से
सितारे उकेर जाते हो।

कभी बारिश की बूँदों को पकड़कर
उनमें भीगी हुई कहानियाँ लिखते हो,
तो कभी बूढ़ी झुर्रियों में छिपी
ख़ूबसूरती को चुपके से उकेर जाते हो।

सड़क की धूल से चाँद सजाते हो,
टूटी किरचियों में सपने दिखाते हो।
कभी रेत पर चलते-चलते
कायनात के नक़्श बना जाते हो।

तुम सिर्फ़ शायर नहीं, जादूगर हो,
जो लफ़्ज़ों से दिल की गिरहें खोल जाते हो।

बताओ न मुझे भी ज़रा,
बिन कहे भी ख़ूबसूरती से
तुम इतना कुछ कैसे बोल जाते हो।
