More than two decades after its original release, Yuva is set to make a comeback in cinemas. The critically acclaimed political action drama, directed by Mani Ratnam, will re-release in theatres on February 20, 2026, exclusively at PVR INOX cinemas.

Originally released in 2004, Yuva was widely appreciated for its layered storytelling, powerful performances, and socially charged narrative. Its return to theatres offers both long-time fans and new audiences an opportunity to experience the film on the big screen once again.

Esha Deol Shares the Announcement

The re-release news was shared by the film’s lead actor Esha Deol, who described Yuva as “extremely close to my heart.” Reflecting on her experience, she said the film remains one of the most special projects of her career.

Esha also spoke about collaborating with Mani Ratnam and co-stars like Ajay Devgn, and mentioned Suriya, who featured in the Tamil adaptation. She highlighted how being part of a youth-centric political drama was a memorable journey that continues to resonate with the cast.

Following the announcement, fans flooded social media with nostalgic reactions, calling the film “superb” and sharing fond memories associated with its original theatrical run.

About the Film

Yuva featured a strong ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi alongside Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Esha Deol.

The narrative revolved around the interconnected lives of three young men from contrasting socio-economic backgrounds. Set against a volatile political backdrop, the film explored themes of youth empowerment, corruption, ambition, love, and societal transformation. Mani Ratnam’s non-linear storytelling technique added intensity and depth to the drama.

The film was simultaneously made in Tamil as Aayutha Ezhuthu, starring Suriya, R. Madhavan, and Siddharth in lead roles. Both versions were praised for their performances and impactful background score.

Esha Deol’s Recent Work

Esha Deol made her acting debut with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002 and went on to feature in several notable films such as Dhoom, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Dus, Kaal, and No Entry.

After a brief hiatus, she returned to acting with the web series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness and Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega. She was recently seen in Tumko Meri Kasam, directed by Vikram Bhatt, which is reportedly based on the life of Dr. Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF.

With its compelling narrative and ensemble cast, Yuva remains one of Mani Ratnam’s most influential Hindi films. Its theatrical re-release on February 20, 2026, at PVR INOX cinemas is poised to rekindle nostalgia while introducing a new generation to its politically charged storytelling and memorable performances.
