Aamir Khan has finally shared the first poster of his upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par. While some fans are excited, others are not too impressed. The film is being seen as a spiritual follow-up to his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, a movie that touched hearts across the country and helped raise awareness about learning disorders like dyslexia.
Sitaare Zameen Par: A Sequel to a Beloved Classic
Taare Zameen Par, which starred Aamir Khan along with Darsheel Safary and Tisca Chopra, became a turning point in Indian cinema. It focused on the emotional world of children and made people more aware of challenges like autism and learning disabilities. Now, with Sitaare Zameen Par on the way, fans are hoping to relive that same emotional journey.
This time, Aamir Khan is back, and so is Darsheel Safary. Joining them is actress Genelia Deshmukh, along with 10 young actors making their debut. The movie is based on the Spanish film Champions (2018), and is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20.
Aamir Khan as a Coach
The poster shows Aamir Khan in a new avatar. He plays a coach and is seen in two different poses. At the top is a close-up of his face, and below that is an image of him resting his head on his hand while leaning on a basketball. Behind him stands his young team of actors: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Vedant Sharma, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, Ayush Bhansali, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar.
The poster comes with the tagline: “A film celebrating love, laughter and happiness. #SitaareZameenPar #SabkaApnaApnaNormal, 20th June Only In Theatres.”
Fans React – Some Love It, Others Not So Much
As soon as the poster was released, social media lit up with reactions. Many fans are excited about the film. One user wrote, “Finally, a good Bollywood film is coming 🤞.” Another fan said, “Aamir Khan always brings something meaningful. This one looks special too!” Many also praised the tagline “Sabka apna apna normal,” calling it beautiful and heartwarming.
However, not everyone was happy. Some felt the poster looked too simple or even dull. A few pointed out that the close-up of Aamir’s face didn’t add much to the design, and that the lower half of the poster was better. One person commented, “Is this really the best they could do? It feels like they’re trying too hard to copy the style of Taare Zameen Par.”
Despite the mixed response, most fans are hopeful that the movie will still deliver a powerful and emotional story. One user summed it up best: “The poster might not be great, but if the film has the same heart as Taare Zameen Par, it will be worth watching.”
