After the tremendous success of “The Kerala Story” at the box office, director Sudipto Sen is ready to embark on another exciting project. Titled “Saharasri,” the upcoming film will delve into the life of renowned business tycoon Subrata Roy, the founder of Sahara India Pariwar.
Producers Sandeep Singh and Dr. Jayantilal Gada have joined hands with Sudipto Sen to bring “Saharasri” to the silver screen, commemorating Subrata Roy’s 75th birthday on June 10. The biopic will take audiences on an enthralling journey, showcasing how this once lesser-known individual rose to become India’s most influential and dynamic business magnate.

Directing a biopic is no small feat, as Sudipto Sen acknowledges. “Filming a biopic is always a challenging job for any filmmaker. Having AR Rahman, Gulzar, Sandeep Singh, and Dr. Jayantilal Gada come together for a film is truly monumental,” he said.
Discussions are underway, with top superstars being considered for the role of Subrata Roy—a revelation that will surely generate excitement in due time.
Presented by Legend Studios and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), “Saharasri” boasts Sandeep Singh as the creative producer. The film, directed by Sudipto Sen and written by Rishi Virmani, Sudipto Sen, and Sandeep Singh, features music by the legendary AR Rahman and lyrics penned by Gulzar. Principal photography is scheduled to commence early next year, with extensive shooting planned across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Kolkata, and London.
