Anaganaga, a Telugu drama film streaming on ETV Win, is more than just a movie. Directed by Sunny Sanjay and starring Sumanth, this film dives deep into the flaws of our education system and shows how learning can be more than just scoring marks. It was released on May 16, 2025.

What Is the Film About?

The word Anaganaga means “Once upon a time” – a fitting title for a story that feels like a meaningful tale we’ve all lived through. The movie tells the story of Vyas Sir, a kind and creative school teacher played by Sumanth. He doesn’t believe in making students memorize lessons just for marks. Instead, he uses stories and simple examples to help them understand and enjoy learning.

Vyas Sir works at the same school where his wife Bhagi (Kajal Choudhary) is the principal. Their son, Ram (Master Viharsh), also studies there. Ram struggles with studies and is unable to meet expectations, especially his mother’s. When he fails in five subjects, Bhagi humiliates him in front of the whole school. This moment becomes the turning point of the story.

A Battle Between Pressure and Passion

The movie focuses on how children often lose their natural curiosity because of the pressure to get good marks. Through Vyas Sir, the film reminds us that real learning is about understanding, not memorizing. The story takes a closer look at how pressure from schools and parents can break a child’s spirit.

Vyas Sir tries to help Ram in his own gentle way. What happens next? Does Ram find his way? Can the system change? The second half of the film answers these emotional questions.

Performance Highlights

Sumanth delivers a memorable performance as Vyas Sir. His character feels real – like the favorite teacher many of us remember from school. He brings warmth and honesty to the screen.

Master Viharsh, who plays Ram, truly shines in the climax with an emotional monologue that is sure to move viewers. On the other hand, Kajal Choudhary’s role as Bhagi had great potential but doesn’t quite hit the mark emotionally.

A Mixed Yet Memorable Experience

While Anaganaga starts off strong with powerful emotions and a meaningful message, the second half becomes slightly melodramatic. Some parts feel like they belong in early 2000s TV dramas. The music, visuals, and dialogues may remind you of old-school ETV serials, which may feel outdated to some, but nostalgic to others.
