Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh bring a romantic touch to their upcoming film Gunmaaster G9 with the release of a new song titled Dard E Dil. Composed and sung by Himesh Reshammiya, the track introduces a softer, emotional dimension to the film, which combines action, romance and drama.
Featuring Emraan and Genelia, Dard E Dil highlights the chemistry between the lead pair through a soulful melody. Himesh Reshammiya and Akasa Singh lend their voices to the song, while the lyrics have been penned by Sonia Kapoor Reshammiya.
The romantic number adds another layer to Gunmaaster G9’s musical identity. With Himesh’s signature compositional style and the contrasting textures of the two singers, the track aims to capture the emotional side of the film’s central relationship.
Himesh Reshammiya on Gunmaaster G9 Song Dard E Dil
Himesh Reshammiya expressed his excitement about releasing Dard E Dil, describing it as a song that holds a special place for him. He also referred to the response received by his earlier tracks, Afsaana Banaaya Aapne and Do Do Din Ki Zindagi, which have collectively garnered more than 300 million views across platforms, according to his statement.
Talking about the new song, Himesh said, “After the blockbuster success of ‘Afsaana Banaaya Aapne’ and ‘Do Do Din Ki Zindagi,’ which have collectively garnered over 300 million views across platforms, including more than 150 million views on my YouTube channel, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, I am extremely happy to bring you a song that is particularly close to my heart. Its vibrant composition and poetic lyrics, beautifully penned by my wife Sonia, make it very special. ‘Dard E Dil’ is a romantic song with a beautiful melody that stays with you long after you have heard it.”
The song’s emotional appeal is also connected to its title, which reminded director Aditya Datt of a memorable musical legacy from his family.
Aditya Datt Reveals the Personal Connection Behind Dard E Dil
Director Aditya Datt said the song is particularly meaningful to him because its opening melody and hook line remind him of his grandfather, legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi. He connected the title with the iconic song Dard-E-Dil Dard-E-Jigar from the film Karz.
Datt clarified that the new track is an entirely different composition and song. However, the personal association with his grandfather’s work makes the release especially meaningful for him.
His comments offer an insight into the inspiration behind the song’s title while distinguishing it from the earlier classic.
Deepak Mukut on Emraan Hashmi and Genelia’s Romantic Pairing
Producer Deepak Mukut described Dard E Dil as an important addition to the film’s overall musical experience. He said the track brings a romantic dimension to the action-driven story and gives Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh’s pairing its own musical moment.
“A film like Gunmaaster G9 needs music that adds to its overall experience, and ‘Dard E Dil’ brings a beautiful romantic dimension to it. Himesh has created a melody that feels warm and heartfelt, and the song gives Emraan and Genelia’s pairing its own musical high,” Mukut said.
The song brings together the film’s romantic elements and its larger action-oriented setting, offering audiences a glimpse of the emotional side of the story.
