The India International Film Festival of Boston (IIFFB) is held in Boston over a festival weekend from the 22nd to the 24th of September 2023. It is promoting cultural conversations and showcasing independent films. There is also space for audience interaction along with gathering and exchange of diverse cultural ideas.
The film festival aims to foster cultural exchange through films from countries around the world. Boston has been a city eager to nurture cross-cultural interactions and this festival surely provides that kind of a platform. IIFFB is screening new Indian and international feature films, short films, and sessions with special guests. The festival is exhibiting films of any genre as long as they have high-quality content. The films in languages other than English are being presented with subtitles.
They had announced for film submissions in different categories a few months back and now the official selections are being screened publicly.
Films from various parts of India and the world are now being celebrated in the Boston Fest. From entertaining to thought-provoking, comedy to realistic, drama, observational, travel, humanitarian, etc. films from all genres have been accepted.
Awards and prizes have also been designated for different film categories like – Best Features Film, Best Short Film, Best Actor (male), Best Actor (female), Best Dialogue, Best Lyricist, Best LGBT Film, Best Documentary, Best Director, etc.
IIFFB aims to bring the best of global cinema on one platform that also represents the growing diversity of the state of Massachusetts. Presenting Indian cinema on this platform is a celebration of its rich culture. Obviously, all the different cultures are getting promoted and this is also fostering connections between the different cultures.
