Singer Pawandeep Rajan, known for winning Indian Idol Season 12, has been badly hurt in a road accident while travelling from Uttarakhand to Delhi.
What Happened?
The accident took place around 3 am on National Highway 9 near Gajraula, in Uttar Pradesh. Pawandeep was travelling with his friend Ajay Mehra and their driver Rahul Singh in an MG Hector car. They were on their way from Champawat, Uttarakhand, to Delhi for a programme.
Their car crashed into a parked Eicher Canter truck from behind. According to the police, the driver might have fallen asleep while driving, which led to the accident.
Injuries and Treatment
All three people in the car — Pawandeep, Ajay, and Rahul — were seriously injured. Pawandeep suffered multiple fractures in both legs and also had a head injury. The police quickly arrived at the scene and sent them to a nearby private hospital for first aid.
Due to the seriousness of their injuries, the group was later moved to Fortis Hospital in Noida for better treatment. Doctors at the hospital shared that Pawandeep is stable and conscious but will need several surgeries to recover fully. He is currently under the care of a team of orthopaedic doctors who are monitoring him closely.
Cause of the Accident
Police believe that driver fatigue may be the main reason for the crash. Rahul Singh, the driver, is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel. Gajraula Police Station officer Akhilesh Pradhan said that the car hit a stationary truck, and early investigations support the theory of driver fatigue. Both vehicles involved in the crash have been seized, and further legal steps will be taken once a formal complaint is filed.

Hospital Statement
Fortis Hospital released a statement confirming Pawandeep’s injuries. They said he has been admitted with multiple fractures and will go through a series of surgeries. The hospital also confirmed that he is stable and under constant observation.
