JioHotstar has unveiled the trailer of Love Always, an upcoming Tamil fantasy-comedy series that brings together romance, family relationships and supernatural twists. One of the trailer’s most distinctive elements is the AI-recreated voice of late comedy writer and actor Crazy Mohan, which narrates the story through a magical medallion.
Directed by Madhumitha, the eight-episode series draws inspiration from Crazy Mohan’s signature comic sensibility, known for clever wordplay, witty dialogue and unpredictable characters. The series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on JioHotstar on October 30, 2026, with all eight episodes expected to be available from launch.
The use of artificial intelligence to recreate Crazy Mohan’s voice adds a notable dimension to the project. Rather than featuring him in a conventional on-screen role, the series uses the recreated voice as part of its fantasy setting and as a tribute to the celebrated Tamil comedy writer.
Love Always Trailer Introduces a Magical Medallion and Comic Chaos
The Love Always trailer introduces Maya, Gauri and Ramsan, whose disagreements and misunderstandings set the stage for a series of comic situations. The story blends youthful romance and family dynamics with fantasy elements, using a magical medallion as a central narrative device.
The trailer’s humour draws on everyday conflicts and the complications that arise when relationships become entangled in unusual circumstances. The fantasy premise gives the characters a setting in which ordinary misunderstandings can lead to unexpected consequences.
The AI-recreated voice of Crazy Mohan is one of the trailer’s key highlights. His narration connects the magical premise with the style of humour that inspired the series, bringing a familiar comic influence into a new format.
Why Love Always Uses AI to Recreate Crazy Mohan’s Voice
Director Madhumitha explained that Crazy Mohan’s writing played an important role in shaping the series. She recalled learning from his approach to comedy while working with him on Kola Kolaya Mundhirika.
“Crazy Mohan sir’s writing has always been special to me. His ability to find humour in the simplest situations—through razor-sharp wordplay and wonderfully unpredictable characters—has been a masterclass in itself,” Madhumitha said.
She also described her experience of working with him as a valuable lesson in comedy, adding that the series was developed with his distinctive approach to humour in mind.
“Every scene felt like a reminder that laughter doesn’t need to be loud to be brilliant; it just needs to be clever, surprising, and completely in love with its characters,” she shared.
According to Madhumitha, using an AI recreation of Crazy Mohan’s voice for the magical medallion was intended as a heartfelt tribute to a writer whose comedy continues to entertain generations.
She also reflected on the playful nature of the concept, suggesting that the idea of a medallion doing the talking would have appealed to his sense of humour.
The creative decision connects the series to Crazy Mohan’s legacy while giving his voice a specific role within its fictional world. The announcement describes the recreation as a tribute; it does not, by itself, establish any broader claim about the use of AI to recreate performers’ voices.
