What Is Mirzapur The Movie About?
Unlike a direct continuation of the television series’ third season, Mirzapur: The Movie takes viewers back to the events of Season 1. It is an interquel, meaning its story takes place between events already shown in an existing narrative.
The film returns to the period when Akhandanand Tripathi, popularly known as Kaleen Bhaiya, holds considerable power over Mirzapur’s criminal underworld. Munna Tripathi remains the heir to the family empire, while Guddu and Bablu Pandit are closely connected to the operations that sustain its influence.
However, the power struggle takes a new turn with the arrival of Babban Babua, a ruthless and ambitious figure from Jaisalmer. His entry threatens the existing balance of power and creates another challenge for those fighting to control Mirzapur.
As rivalries intensify and old relationships are tested, the film explores another chapter in the violent struggle for the city’s criminal throne.
