The Met Gala 2025 turned heads once again with its glamorous theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” One of the most talked-about appearances this year was by Indian businesswoman and fashion icon Natasha Poonawalla. She wore a stunning outfit that mixed tradition with modern fashion, designed specially by the famous Indian designer Manish Malhotra.
Honoring Her Roots with Elegance
Natasha’s outfit was more than just stylish—it told a story. She wore a custom-made outfit decorated with traditional Parsi Gara embroidery, which is a rare and beautiful form of hand embroidery from the Parsi community. To honor her cultural roots, Manish Malhotra used two Parsi Gara sarees to design her fishtail skirt.
The skirt had a fit-and-flare shape, fitting tightly at the hips and flowing into a long, elegant train. It was paired with a vintage French lace bralette detailed with tiny pearls and a corset-style cummerbund, which added structure to the look.
To finish off the outfit, she wore a jacket with bold, oversized shoulders, also detailed with Gara embroidery. This modern twist added drama and style to the traditional design.
Jewelry and Accessories That Turned Heads
Natasha didn’t stop with just the outfit. She wore a beautiful lace neckpiece made by Atelier Biser. The necklace had freshwater pearls hanging from every point, giving it a delicate and artistic look.

She also carried a mini Chanel handbag worth around Rs 7.5 lakh (Rs 7,51,380 to be exact). The luxury accessory was the perfect match for her rich, cultural look. Her hair was styled in a sleek, tight bun, keeping the focus on her stunning outfit and jewelry.
Soft Yet Glamorous Makeup Look
Her makeup struck the perfect balance between natural beauty and Hollywood glam. She chose a soft eyeshadow look with sharp winged eyeliner, long lashes, and defined brows. A little blush added a healthy glow to her cheeks, and her lips were kept natural with a glossy nude lipstick.
A Personal Connection to Heritage
Natasha Poonawalla wasn’t just dressing up for the cameras—her outfit carried a lot of meaning. Talking about her Met Gala look, she said:
“A fusion of heritage and high craft, individuality and structure, and above all, a celebration of identity worn with intention. Personally, I feel a deep connection to my roots, and it felt meaningful to weave that history into this moment.”
