Actor Sharib Hashmi, is all set to be a part of the biopic ‘Tarla.’ The film, directed by Piyush Gupta, revolves around the life of renowned Indian chef and cookbook author Tarla Dalal, with Huma Qureshi playing the lead role. Sharib Hashmi, deeply moved by the narrative of the story, expressed his eagerness to join the project, going as far as to beg the director to sign him immediately.
Reflecting on his experience, Sharib Hashmi expressed his admiration for Piyush Gupta. He said, “I was sold the way Piyush Gupta narrated the story of Tarla to me. It was beautiful. And I could visualise the film in his beautiful narration. I begged him to just sign me immediately.

Sharib was willing to go to any lengths to be a part of the project and work with Piyush. On the set, he found Piyush Gupta to be a clear and focused director, and he thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with him. He says, “I had a great time working with Piyush. And I really hope and pray that he gets the biggest of the biggest films to write and direct in future. I’m ready to do even a passing shot for Piyush.”
Discussing his co-star Huma Qureshi, Sharib Hashmi couldn’t help but praise her acting skills. As a fan of her work, Sharib initially expected her to have a certain demeanor, but he was pleasantly surprised by her warmth and down-to-earth nature. Huma proved to be a sweetheart and a great co-actor, with whom Sharib developed a strong bond on and off the sets. He considers Huma not just a co-star but also a lifelong friend.

In the film ‘Tarla,’ Sharib Hashmi portrays the character of Nalin Dalal, Tarla Dalal’s husband. When asked about the qualities that husbands can learn from Nalin Dalal, Sharib emphasized his unconditional support for his wife and his willingness to put his own career aside.
